According to legend, in ancient times, a patriotic poet named Qu Yuan committed suicide by jumping into the river because of his loyalty to the country. In order to commemorate him, local residents rowed boats to the river to search for him and feed him to prevent fish and shrimp from eating his body. Over time, this activity gradually evolved into a grand competition of dragon boat racing.

These loon boats are usually made of wood, about 10 to 30 meters long, with a unique shape, a loon head in the front and a sharp tail. Before the competition, the members of the loon boat team will wear uniform clothing, such as colorful clothes or loon robes, to show the cohesion and morale of the team. The team members will be divided into different positions, including oarsmen, helmsmen and drummers. The oarsmen paddled in unison, the helmsman was responsible for controlling the direction of the boat, and the drummers beat the drums to encourage the team members to paddle with all their strength.

At the command, the loon boat quickly paddled, the team members paddled hard, and the boat cut through the waves on the water at a very fast speed. The audience cheered along the river bank and cheered for the participating teams. The whole competition process was very intense, with intense competition between teams, and the audience would also be excited.

After the competition, the team that arrived at the finish line the fastest will win and receive rich prizes and honors. The winning team will be regarded as a symbol of auspiciousness and luck, and the people participating in the competition will be able to experience happiness and team spirit.
